Colorado Springs Pet Wellness Care Keeps Pets Active and Healthy
At Yorkshire Veterinary Hospital, we believe that prevention is truly the best medicine! That's why our veterinary team offers individualized wellness programs. These programs are tailored to fit the unique needs of your pet, depending on species, breed, age, and lifestyle. From routine vaccinations to nutritional counseling, our pet wellness program will keep your pet healthy and active during all stages of his or her life.
Protect Your Pet's Health with Wellness Care
We recommend that all pets receive an annual wellness check-up. During this visit, our vet will perform a comprehensive physical exam. We will complete diagnostic blood work, a urinalysis and take a fecal sample to screen for early signs of illness or a parasite infection. Our Colorado Springs animal hospital also tests cats for feline immunodeficiency virus and feline leukemia.
If you have a young puppy or kitten, we provide pediatric pet care, including all the necessary puppy and kitten shots. Because the immune systems of these young animals are still developing, your pet will need a series of vaccinations and booster shots. This series is administered every four weeks until your pet's immune system is fully matured.
As pets age, we recommend a semi-annual visit. Proactive wellness care can help treat and manage many age-related issues, including arthritis, thyroid imbalance, heart disease and cancer, before your pet's health is compromised.
We also understand that it can be expensive to care for a pet. With our wellness programs, we keep your pet healthy by preventing disease. By detecting any underlying health conditions as early as possible, our veterinarian has more treatment options available. Early detection also allows our team to use conservative treatment measures that are less costly but equally effective.
Pet wellness starts with you, your pet's guardian. Just like in humans, proper nutrition and daily activity are essential to your pet's well being. Our vet works closely with pet owners to ensure they are educated about the best ways to care for their pets.
