Puppy Care
Congratulations On Your New Puppy!
Bringing a new puppy home is such an exciting time. Your home becomes filled with extra wiggles, kisses, and love! We are excited to help you start your puppy off right with superb veterinary care from the very beginning.
Puppies have different needs than adult dogs, and therefore require specialized veterinary care. We recommend puppies come in for three visits to receive puppy health check exams and vaccines. At your puppy’s first exam your veterinarian will discuss vaccinations, nutrition, life stages, and will address any questions you may have. We have outlined a general veterinary schedule for puppy care below. A full handout about puppy care is available to download via the link at the bottom of the page.
First Puppy Exam (7-8 Weeks)
- Wellness examination
- 1st puppy DAPP (distemper, parvovirus, parainfluenza, adenovirus) vaccination
- Stool sample to check for worms and parasites
Second Puppy Exam (11-12 Weeks)

- 2nd puppy DAPP vaccination
